Walrath was a potter who was trained at the New York State School of Ceramics, under Charles Binns, the same school as Arthur Baggs of Marblehead. He worked at the Grueby Faience Company in Boston, and taught at the Mechanics Institute from 1908 until 1918. An unusual piece of New England Arts & Crafts era art pottery.
